California Behavioral Health Center Branding Design

Challenge

This therapist approached our team in the early stages of building their own practice. They needed a logo and branding design to match the polished and intelligent yet playful and artistic feel of their new business. 

Solution

Our team created multiple branding options for this client. Each option reflects a professional brand with artistic and organic touches like the handwritten font and imperfect lines. Simplified sun and rainbow imagery are modern but bring a sense of hope and transformation.

Context

This practice is focused on transformation and action as medicine, using elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy. They specialize in treating adolescents and adults struggling with trauma, chronic pain, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. Along with counseling, they also offer coaching and consulting sessions. 

The founding therapist is inspired by earthy elements and Japanese design aesthetics.

Our Strategy

The design team at Theory About That set out to create logos that could be used in any scenario and look great across all platforms - from the website, to business cards, to promotional products, to social media. To achieve this, we included square and wide versions of the logo. 

In curating brand elements and a color palette, we took this therapist’s approach into account. We created imagery that was artistic but not overly feminine or garish. Round shapes bring to mind stacked rocks on a peaceful seashore, representing balance and mindfulness. Curved arches are reminiscent of rainbows, a sign of hope and transformation. The color palette matches the therapist’s brand inspiration with earthy tones found in nature.
